IZZY NELSON

INSTRUCTOR


Izzy Nelson is a BFA Dance Performance student at Chapman University. She trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, musical theater, and tap at The Urge Dance Complex for 9 years, where she began teaching and choreographing at age 14. Since then, she has taught and choreographed at various studios and schools in California and has recently created multiple works at Chapman University. Izzy was involved in the dance department at Crean Lutheran High school; she served as dance department president and dance team captain during her senior year. Izzy choreographed multiple solos, pep rally routines, and two advanced contemporary large groups for the spring showcase, giving her the title of Choreographer of the Year for two years in a row. It was through Crean Lutheran that Izzy was nominated for the Young Arts dance award and was named OC artist dancer of the year semi finalist in 2020. Izzy is looking forward to more opportunities to perform and choreograph at Chapman University and beyond.
